So with my new job comes new challenges, namely being jumping into the world of C# and .NET. I've played around with it and done a number of things so far wish some minor successes, and most importantly increasing understanding of it all. So to aid myself in the learning process, I've signed up for some windows hosting that I plan to move the really never used onewingedangel.net to.

With that I plan to do some playing around and creation of some sites backed by C# and .NET. Look for that in the coming weeks.

Also been listening to allot of Rammstein, go figure.

Fishy
Tuesday April 22, 2008 11:00 AM

We decided to get a fish tank a few weeks ago. And purchased about a dozen or so different fish. We had two die unexpectedly and found out that goldfish don't mix with mollies. So all our goldfish died. We let the tank stabilize a bit and everything seems good now. Two days ago I noticed a tiny itty bitty baby snail flowing along the aquarium glass. I was quite surprised to see it. Yesterday I got home and noticed another baby snail, and a baby molly fish. So while we lost a few fish, we have gained two baby snails and a baby fish.

It was fun trying to catch the baby fish, but we managed to get him isolated into a breeding cage so he can avoid the possibility of being eaten by the bigger fish. Hopefully he will grow up and be healthy.

A Vast Mana Keep
Friday April 18, 2008 12:56 PM

On a whim I went out and got Rock Band the other day. I haven't had a chance to try it out, but hoping to this weekend. I've also been playing Mana Khemia, which is a surprisingly fun laid back RPG. I am having a few Everquest withdrawals, but I've fought them off rather easily. We bought a new king size bed which is very comfortable. Been sleeping really good with the quality and size of the bed. The cats seem to enjoy it too. Often I wake up in the middle of the night and Arwen will be sprawled out by my feet, reducing my wiggle room considerable.

We got a fish tank, and have had three fish die. I think we may have a disease, as one of our goldfish has spots on his fins. We also have a aggressive fish, which I think lead to the death of another goldfish we had. He may also be the cause of the other fish, but its hard to tell at this point in time.

I've come to the conclusion that Austin's Imax theatre doesn't tend to show commercial films, such as the upcoming Batman and Speed Racer. Sooooo it looks like a trip to San Antonio will be made when Batman is released. That's about the only negative I have so far, from living here, that and lack of a favorite Chinese and Mexican restaurant, but time and trying new places should remedy that issue.

Quick launch of the new site version I worked on a few weeks ago. Still a few ends to tie up, but nice and simple with allot more dynamic database craziness going on.

Our first trip to Austin's goth/industrial/etc club called Elysium. We went to see Lucid Dementia but didn't enjoy them half as much as subNatural which rocked the house. They are a local band so I plan to see them every chance we can. We are still amazed with our new home. Being in Oklahoma with no nightlife for the longest time and then jumping head first into Austin. Its just amazing. We have a blast on 6th street doing some bar hopping as we waited for the show to start.

I think I may get that Sony Pirates game tomorrow and add it on to my Sony account. I wish NCSoft would do something similar and I would jump over to their games.

Wow comics
Thursday February 21, 2008 4:42 PM

So, my brain was bombarded with a ton of information this week that I needed to clear it by doing some actually scripting. Since I don't really have a project yet, I decided to create a function on my comic book page that would count the actual number of issues for each title in the database. Output the count as well as create a total count of every comic. Took me about 45 or so minutes to get it all setup and tested. I also ripped the tables off of that portion of code and used CSS for placement, as well as adding a few other style changes.

And for those totally confused with what I just said. I have 2,687 comics!

More from UT
Wednesday February 20, 2008 4:49 PM

I'm lazy, so heres a paste of something I wrote to an old co-worker.

Well I'm on my third day of work, it was a bit slow the first two days, but today I got full access to the Stellent content management server which they do the majority of the web front work. Its a bit new for me of course, but it looks like its a very powerful tool. Tomorrow I get to sit down with the main systems programmer and discuss some php and mysql projects. Theres also talk about me and the systems programmer taking a serious look into learning Ruby on rails which I've been interested in learning.

The atmosphere is real casual, so casual in fact my new boss tends to walk around the office barefoot. I have a nice little cubical area and have a brand new imac as well as a normal Macbook(not a pro sadly). Everyone is excited that I'm here as it seems I'll be doing allot of the more advanced coding of projects and creating more robustness to existing programs.

We haven't had much time to do much entertainment wise. We did go to the Alamo Drafthouse which is a movie theater that actually serves dinner and drinks(alcohol too) while you watch the movie.

Was a pretty neat experience.

We have done some exploring, visited a few comic shops, they have a Fry's electronics here which is like a giant Wal-mart type store geared towards electronics, games, movies, and the likes. Our neighborhood is nice and quiet and pretty close to major stores(3 or so miles from I-35), but is also near the town of Pflugerville which has a small town feel much like Okmulgee. So they have the odd family owned restaurants.

The campus here is huge, I don't think I was in shock until Monday when I went to lunch and it looked like there where more places to eat in the student union then there is in all of Okmulgee. The only downside is the parking as the closest parking garages to my office are booked to capacity. Luckily I can get on a waitlist to get a permit there in time. For now I park at a lot near the LBJ Library and take a shuttle bus that gets me closer to my building.

I'm getting daily emails of campus life activities and it seems they have a good 12 or so events or more occurring daily. In fact it was neat to see that Bill Gates(Keiths hero) was on campus today giving a lecture to IT students. And tomorrow(if you watch CNN) CNN will be having a televised debate between Clinton and Obama. So part of campus is going to be off limits for security reasons.

The commute to work isn't too bad, takes about 35 minutes max if I leave at 7:00, however the ride home takes almost an hour. I'm hoping with time I'll discover some shortcuts to take to cut some time down on the drive.

I did end up buying a new car, a 2007 Hyndai Elantra, so the ride is smooth and gas is not as much of a concern as my old boat of a car. Its also a much smaller car which helps around campus as the lanes can be quite tight at times.

The weather is crazy here. My drive to work has my using the heater, and the drive home has me using the AC, haha.

Live from Austin
Sunday February 17, 2008 12:06 PM

Well its been a crazy month, but me and Jackie are now living in the Austin area. Pflugerville to be exact a suburb directly north of Austin. After giving my two weeks notice at OSU they threw me a going away party which was nice and fun. The next day had us loading up the moving truck and eating pizza. The next day we started our long drive to Austin. Our cats where not too happy, but they survived the drive. On Saturday the 9th we started unloading the moving van with lots of help from my cousin Eric who has lived in the area for a number of years. My parents helped and Jackies dad and step-mother showed up to help as well. Tired and exhausted we where moved in and just had to unpack. All our parents left for their homes that night as well.

The past week was very tiring but we are starting to calm down a bit from all the stress and chaos. I bought a new car as mine was going to cost to much to bring up to Texas safety standards. I got a 2007 Hyundai Elantra which will be great for commuting to work. On Wednesday we went to the University of Texas where my new job is and meet my new co-workers. They are all very nice and friendly. The atmosphere seems to be very casual compared to my old position at OSU. I'm looking forward to starting work tomorrow.

There are 4 new galleries up, two from events last October, TNA Wreslting last month, and some pictures of campus in our first week in Austin folder. I'll post more when I can.

Crazy few weeks since graduation ended. Christmas of course with lots of neat gifts you can see in my gallery. Relaxed a bit and enjoyed the time off. The second week of January started the mad rush to my current situation. After a job interview with OU and another with UT(and countless calls from consulting firms), I was offered a position at the University of Texas in Austin. I accepted as its a great position in their college of communication and its in Austin one of our top city choices. Jackie will have many opportunities for a job and it will be a great change to Oklahoma.

We found a house and got approved and will be moving to Austin on the 9th. OSU is sad to see me go, but its time to start a new chapter in our life. Lots of other things have been happening that I'll touch base on soon.

Its been a long journey that has ended. As of this past Tuesday I know hold a Bachelor of Technology degree in Information Security and Forensics. It was kind of sad to see this part of my education end. And yet another part begins as I begin preparation to take the GMAT and begin the application process for a Master's degree program.

Christmas is upon us in just a few days, as is Jackie's birthday. We plan to go out and eat Sunday night as well as seeing Sweeney Todd. Should be a fun night for just the two of use before the craziness of Christmas day hits.

Sooo I had an odd dream. My father passed away and I was quite upset. Nothing would calm me down. I tried desperately to contact my old friend and ex-girlfriend Christina. I left messages and emails, about how I needed to see her. After days of chaos I got a reply saying to come visit. I drove and got to her house, her roomates tried to calm me down as she was at work. She finally got home and we hugged and I was all calm and normal again. I then woke up.

Been sick the past two days, but feeling better today. Didn't get too behind at work. It appears I have to attend the Fall Carnifall event as a club sponsor. I'll probably head home grab my PSP and the new Castlevania game, some food, and then get to camp out in the cold for a few hours.

I got into Chapter 6 the other night in Eternal Sonota. Still a fun great game that I'm enjoying greatly. I also played a bit of Halo 3. I ended up picking up and opening my legendary edition. The helmet and stand that comes with it is allot bigger then I thought it would be. Fun stuff.

Etenal Sonata Prime
Wednesday August 29, 2007 2:53 PM

Well I decided to switch out the images from Y's Origins for something thats just around the corner. A wonderful and beautiful RPG for the Xbox 360 called Eternal Sonata. It comes out in Mid-September and I'm looking forward to playing it, as I loved the demo. I picked up Metroid Prime 3 yesterday and played a few hours of it. It took a bit to get used to the controls but its been pretty fun so far. Jackie beat Bioshock this past week as well. All the great games of the Fall have finally starting being released. Its going to be a busy few months for us game wise.

Jackie has had some promising interviews with a Hospital in Tulsa. She goes in for another tomorrow, hopefully she'll get word back on being hired so she can put that degree to good use.

My body doesn't seem to want to work with me. I'm trying to be more active by exercising 5+ days a week, but my body keeps finding pains and aches, as well as tiredness. I'm not sure what the deal is.

Had a blast at Project Revolution in Dallas a few weeks ago. I got horrible sunburned though. It still hasn't fully recovered. I got Super Metroid and Neutopia this past week on Wii's Virtual Console. I've been craving both for quite some time. I rushed through Super Metroid and beat it quickly. I'll play around with Neutopia over the next few days before Metroid Prime 3 comes out. Then I'll be hooked on that.

I bought a new web domain specifically to post my resume and work examples to. However, my brain is devoid of all creativity to make it spicy. Hopefully something will come about in the next few weeks. The hard part will be getting working examples from OSU-Okmulgee's site up and running on the new domain and separate for OSU's. All in good time I suppose.

Sleepy Head
Monday July 30, 2007 9:36 AM

Why can't I get a good nights sleep. I can't recall the last time I work up fully rested. Its starting to drive me crazy.

I have had a interesting barrage of dreams the past three nights. First on Friday I dreamed that my dad passed away and we buried him in the backyard. Saturday I dreamed I was going to a concert, but Jackie did not want to go. It was at a bar where a Wal-Mart is now. Anyways, I went to the Wal-Mart for some reason, then went to the bar. Everyone was dressed in trench coats, and there was a pigeon with a pirate eye patch and a pegleg that was raiding around the bar on a skateboard. I also remember driving my very first car. And last night was even stranger.

It started off with me and Jackie watching X-Play, we then went to the Mall to a special brownie store. I wanted to get a brownie smoothie, but decided not too. Then Jackie wanted to order a 12 pack of german chocolate brownies that had rolos pushed in the center. She kept going on about how the store was about to discontinue them. I had to go to the bathroom, and when I got back she had ringed up like $55.00 with of brownie goods for herself, and was asking if I wanted anything. I ended up with one brownie and a drink. We then went home and watched more X-play and realized that the shows studio had relocated to our town being filmed at a local high school audio visual department. Which is odd cause there isn't a high school with an audio visual department around here. So we drove around and found the studio, but where not sure if it was the right place or not. We decided to go in and there was a TV showing the end of an episode. Then Adam and Morgan walked around the corner and greeted us. We talked about stuff for a little bit including the time a giant magnetic wave hit the town and disable all electronics for two days. We then decided to catch a bus, but the bus was one of those open top buses from England, and all of a sudden I was dressed up as the fourth Doctor Who. I charged onto the bus, where a bunch of school kids where, I pushed through them as they screamed. I sat down and started saying some scientific Doctor Who stuff, and then I woke up.

I need sleep.

Pushing me away

Well I went crazy again a week or so back. Aarons finally got some 1080p big screen Tv's in, so I picked one up. Been craving 1080p for months, and now we have one. Looks wicked awesome on our games nad movies. Also upgraded our stereo which now rocks 5 times as hard. Also picked up Overlord after hearing how much fun it was. Glad I did, its tidying me over until next month when all sorts of games start being released.

Been trying to loose weight, eating less, exercising almost daily, and for some god forsaken reason I'm not loosing anything. In fact I gained half a pound from last week. I'm thinking monday is not the day to weight yourself.

Has our monthly lan party Friday, still recovering from the lack of sleep. Brought down the Xbox 360 and played lots of things. A torrent I have been downloading for a week or two finally finished up. Its a British sketch comedy show called DeadRingers. Its pretty funny, even tho some of the jokes are very British. I was born in the wrong country I think.

Thursday June 28, 2007 4:00 PM

Lots of fun craziness of late. A few weeks ago saw me and Jackie heading back to Dallas for a concert. A band Jackie has adored for years called VNV nation, opening for them was Imperative Reaction. Was an awesome night and show. Had some beers, and afterwards we went to the famous goth/industrial club The church in downtime Dallas. Was a great atmosphere and fun weekend.

This past week Jackie went to California on a field trip with her Culinary club she is a member of at school. She had a blast. I did a few things, saw the new Fantastic Four movie, and 1408. Both good movies. I spent Saturday with Cliff watching Doctor Who, played some Marvel Ultimate Alliance, and chilled in general.

My mother had surgery as well and is recovering well now. They are wanting to have a get together sometime around the 4th with my sister and me. Its been Christmas since I last saw her.

Work has been boring of late. Working on a few problems here and there, did some training this past week. We did get our yearly raise which kicks in, in July. The increase will be nice as usual. Jackie starts her internship next week, and will soon look for a full time job soon. I still have one more semester until I am finished and who knows what we will do.

Happy Birthday Krystal

Happy Birthday to my sister who turns 27 today. Wow how time flies.

Went to see Spiderman 3 in Imax this week, was decent. I think Jackie enjoyed it more then I did. Our next film outing will be Pirates 3 which we are going with a sizable group from work, next Thursday. Should be fun. Next couple of months are filled with a number of activities we bought tickets for. The middle of June we will go see VNV Nation in Dallas, and in I think August we will see Linkin Park and HIM in Dallas as well.

I splurged this past weekend while Jackie was away and bought a 32 inch HDTV to place in my computer room. Now I can run my computer, or tv, or video games all in one great big screen. I really dig Highdef technology. I wish Dish network would add more channels, specifically local HD channels. All in due time I suppose.

Cliff is now back in Oklahoma, and I've had some good times hanging with him. Also have new Dr. Who to watch, and its awesome as ever. Next week Odin Sphere comes out on PS2 which I plan to pick up. I'm installing Granado Espada beta right now. I neat looking MMO coming out soon.

Fun stuff!

Marchism
Thursday March 1, 2007 2:09 PM

February was one crazy month. It started off with a kick ass concert, followed by a weekend in Dallas and a visit to Medieval Times. The following weekend saw us back in Dallas for Cirques Corteo. We stayed at the Hilton as a suprise Valentines celebration. Had great food, and a great time, although I was quite ill. I think I'm finally over most of my sickness. My teeth ache a little bit, but thats from two trips to the dentist.

Had a bit of a game drough, in which I managed to beat Untold Legends on the PS3, drop Rogue Galaxy cause it sucked, and started up World of Warcraft again to play with some friends at work. However, March is gonna be busy, just yesterday I picked up Bullet Witch and Samurai Warriors 2 Empires for the 360. And I think there is another game or two our this month I would like to get. Now I can start working on getting 1500 achievements points before next month to get some nice free stuff. I also picked up a PSP and a few games for it. Its a pretty neat device, holds music, pictures, videos, and more. Using it as a pretty nice multimedia device.

Ayria
Friday February 9, 2007 11:57 AM

Been a crazy few active weeks. School was shut down for an entire week in Mid January when a horrible icestorm hit the state. I ended up buying a Playstation 3 right before it hit and played Genju and other games heavily during the off time. Luckily we only lost power for about an hour or so.

At the end of January we went to see Cruxshadows, with Ayria, and Ego Likeness. Its been years since I went to a concert last. It was a blast. In a small venue with 100 or so people, it was very personable with all the musicians walking around having a good time between sets. At the end me and Jackie and almost everyone else got dragged on the stage with the Cruxshadows for their final song. Pretty fun night.

A week later we where in Dallas. We saw Cliff for a couple of hours and I dumped some cash on a PSP. Sadly I have every system out now. Now to find time to play all the games. In Dallas we went to Medieval Times. Was a great night, good show, fun food and alcohol. We stayed the night there, and came back the next day.

Got back to Oklahoma just to have me and Jackie get a nasty cold for a few days. I'm mostly over it, and I have Jackie gets past the worst of it today. Tomorrow we head back to Dallas, where I have a surprise for Jackie for Valentines Day, and Sunday we are going to see Corteo. Should be a great weekend.

iMac n stuff
Monday October 30, 2006 12:08 PM

Well aside from the fact that Apple's ordering process and support is very very poor. I got a new iMac for work. The one I had was nearly 7 years old, so it was time to get a new one for cross browsing testing and other fun stuff. I went all the way and got a 24 inch monitor which is quite nice looking. We even installed Windows XP on it with no problems at all. Fun new toy indeed.

I start Desire 2 Learn training this week, and will continue through Thanksgiving. It's gonna be a very busy month, but the new system is really nice and has allot more features Blackboard does not have. Not to mention the server is hosted in Stillwater and it'll be major relief off my task and worry list.

Me and Jackie went to see the Prestige this weekend, it was really really wicked little movie. So I turned 31 last week. It wasn't too bad until Jackie put a big 3 and a 1 on my cake. Haha, but all things are good. This semester is insanely stressful. I have a bit of drama going in just about every aspect of my life. Hopefully come end of this month and better yet after the semester is over in December it will cool down immensely. For my birthday Jackie got me Samurai Warriors 2, the batman season 2, teen titans season 2, and a neat conan double movie DVD. I also gifted myself with a few games and dvds here n there. I heard there are new episodes of Aqua teen starting this month. I need a to see if I missed any, hopefully I haven't, I need a good dose of new aqua teen.

We are having a yard sale this weekend, I'm hoping we can get rid of our old couch, treadmill, and odds and ends. If not we may give whats left to the salvation army. Our house is in total disarray cause of the sale and my spacial balance needs to be restored asap. Today is the yearly technology showcase, Jackie is a bit stressed out due to having to server 400 some odd people. I get to stay snug in my office avoiding all the chaos since our building is still not finished. Tomorrow is the first day to preorder the new Nintendo Wii. I'll probably jet down there come 10 AM to place an order. I'm really looking forward to this new system.

Caught a number of fun movies the past few weeks. Starting with Superman Returns in full blown 3D Imax. It was wicked to say the least and I almost shedded a tear when it started up. The music got to me, making me recall all my days when I was young and watched the original movies countlessly. While in OKC for our anniversary we watched Click a funny little movie. We then saw Clerks 2 and Lady in the water this past week. Clerks was allot funnier then I thought it would be, and Lady in the water was simple astounding. Its very rare to find stories such as that one nowadays. On the gaming front I've been hooked on the new Lord of the Rings Battle of Middleearth 2, and Xbox live released a 99 Nights demo this past week. I picked up a few new games, Kingdom Hearts 2, Bomberman DS, Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter, Dynasty Warriors 5 Empires(for 360), and borrowed Fable and Castlevania from Cliff. Gamefly showed up on our doorsteps with the Outfit, so plenty of games to play. This weekend I think me, Jackie, and Brandon are going to Tulsa to get our comics and do some running around.

My classes are starting to toil on me, my online ecommerce stuff has some pointless Java programming projects due this week and next. Luckily I think I found a solution to them both. Spring semester is just about over, and Summer shall begin. I'm getting close and close to the BA which is awesome.

Wrestlemania Fading Fast
Wednesday March 29, 2006 2:49 PM

So I finally beat Tales of Legendia, fun little game. I'm going to mess with all the after game side quest stuff though. With that wrapped up I started playing 24 the game. Its a fun little romp that I plowed through until I got to the final mission where you have to blow up a speeding boat that is racing off away from you with one bullet. If you fail you have to redo the entire mission. After 20 some odd tries. I gave up and tossed the game on ebay. Its fun but thats just too frustrating and I don't see much reply value in it. Plus I have Dynasty Warriors 5 for the 360, Kingdom Hearts 2, and I think another game to pick up this week when I get paid tomorrow. Also quite a few DVD sets I want to get, Batman Beyond Season 1, Justice League Season 1, Robot Chicken Season 1, Ghost in the Shell SAC 2nd Gig volume 4, and I think Jackie wants to get Memoirs of a Geisha.

Wrestlemania is coming this Sunday and the yearly get together my and most of my friends have seems to be falling apart. Our friend Cliff moved to Texas a year or two ago and out of the blue his roommate and only ride moved back to Oklahoma. Leaving him with no means of travel. So if we want him to be around for the show this Sunday we have to go get him. Travis would normally pitch in and help, but I just don't know. If I can't get a hold of him tonight, I may say fuck it, and just have Brandon come up for some Guildwars gaming or something. Cliff just needs to move back here, or get a clue and get online.

Dead or Alive
Monday February 27, 2006 9:47 AM

I just rock at not making posts. Things have been hella busy the past month or so. Classes fill up a good chunk of time, and work is just now starting to slow down a little bit. But then again I need to set up some training sessions and support for other various things. Not to mention a few trips and two trips to Stillwater this week alone. I have midterms too, but luckily a fellow close mate sent me and a few others the completed answered review sheet. So I just need to study. I have also been wanting to help a local group of students form an anime club on campus. They meet every Thursday but lately its just been bad timing. Been sick, off campus, and just not mentally well in same cases. All in due time I suppose.

So the urge hit me and grew and grew and grew as I continued to not find any Xbox 360 systems for sale. Luckily this past week a friend called me up and said the Wal-Mart in his town had a few. So I call them up and indeed they did. So off me and Jackie went and picked up a 360 system. This system is just plan freaking wicked. So much functionality and the games are simple astounding looking. So far I have picked up Dead or Alive 4, Call of Duty 2, and Full Auto. Last night I finally unlocked most of the characters in Dead or Alive 4. The Xbox Live interface is just amazing. You can replace the music in the game with music streamed from MP3s stored on your computer. You can interface with many components in game, such as messages, friends, and achievements. In the full blown live interface you can download videos, game demos, UI themes, arcade games like Gauntlet, and tons more. If we had a Windows Media Center we can even stream video. But the new version of Windows that comes out later this year will do that as well. I am very very pleased with the system, its capabilities, and the games. Fun Fun stuff.

Monday January 9, 2006 7:10 PM

I have a minor addiction to Coldplay. Mainly brought on by the fact they are coming to OKC next month, and while I don't think I can handle going to a hard rock concert like I used to do, Coldplay is pretty wicked and they are touring with Fiona Apple. Tickets are not too costly so we will most likely go see them come the end of February. School has started backup and we had the typical run of student questions. Not near as bad as it has been in the past. I went ahead and dropped my Computer Networks class. The work load from three classes and work would have drained me good. I have a new intern this semester, the first I've had in probably a year. Shes working out quite nicely and dropping the distraction of that third class will help immensely.

I went to Blockbuster yesterday to trade in some games for Dynasty Warriors 5. They had the preorder any game for $29.99 again so I signed up for 24 the game, and some new military game that comes out in March. Me and Brandon went to Tulsa Saturday to pick up our comic books, and Jimmy had the new Long Halloween figures. I had to pick up the Joker, he is just too cool looking. I did our taxes to this past weekend and we should have a nice chunk of change coming in sometime in the coming week or two. We have some minor projects we want to finish up, and I want to finally get those paints and brushes for my resin kits. We also need to get the cats their annual checkup and shots, and I need to go see the dentist as well.

The end of the known world
Tuesday January 3, 2006 4:10 PM

Well another year gone, and back to work I go. Christmas break was decent, it started off okay but then I ended up being sick and congested for 80% of the break. Za well. I did get a few new things. Some clothes, some batman toys, a foot massager, some anime graphic novels, Absolute Batman Hush, a Tai Chi work out DVD, and many other things. I also picked up Call of Duty 2 for the PC and Call of Duty 2 Big Red One for the Xbox. My addiction to war games continues. I also picked up a lowend surround sound system for my computer which kicks ass. Most of break was spent playing games in one form or another.

I hit level 60 in World of Warcraft and found that I'm not quite fond for the end game raiding, and the way the server I am on does loot. For the most part its a complete waste of time with no progress to show whatsoever. So I cancelled the account after getting disgusted with started a twink. I did start back up with GuildWars and found out quite a number of things that I need to chat with Brandon about. So aside from that and the war games, that is all I have been playing. I've been a bit moody of late, and having a odd dream or two. My mind has been so at war with itself that I'm wearing myself down without doing anything. I need to go have a mee day in a spa or something.

We started watching 24 season three again the other night. I'm hoping we can power through it and season four so we can watch season five as it unfolds. Battlestar Galactica starts up this Friday as well, as does the Shield later this month. I'm debating on getting a 360 or not once my tax return comes in, assuming I can find one. Theres not much out right now, but come February there are many things I want to try out. I also want to finally get the airbrush kit and paints for the models that are collecting dust in my desk. As well as the rest of the Elseworlds figures Jimmy got in a few weeks ago. Weeeee!

Okay guys, yes you asshole christians that are boycotting stores cause they use the term holiday instead of christmas. It kind of sickens me the big uproar you all are doing, if you can't have it your way you make everyone else out to be the bad guy. Let me ask you this. If CHRISTmas is such a big deal to you , then why have I been hearing that a very large number of churches are not having services on Christmas Day which so happens to fall on a Sunday this year. You bunch of fucking hypocrites!

Well I got majorly motivated yesterday while wasting away in class and did some power designing and came up with what you see now. Its fundamentally very similar to the old design, but different enough to bump up the version number a point. I will be tweaking it with some additional images in the coming weeks.

I have finally gotten around to watching Smallville season one that Cliff let me borrow. Its allot better then I thought it would be. I'm already halfway through season one. I'll have to get season two from Cliff soon I hope.

Hmmm redesign on my mind
Monday November 14, 2005 4:47 PM

Well I recently have been getting obessesed with all things Y's again. Y's for those that don't know is a dramatic action RPG series from Falcom. The original Y's was released on many systems but got great attention on the Turbographics 16 CD system here in the US. It was followed by Y's III for the same system and then pretty much disappeared for a decade. Falcom has since moved to creating their games exclusively for PC in Japan. Luckily Konami brought over the 6th installment last year on the PS2. Falcom's latest Y's installation is a total revamp of Y's III. This time titled Y's Oath in Felghana. Hopefully Konami will bring it over as well, but until then I will play it on the PC, much love to torrents. Y's and Falcom in general are to me as say Final Fantasy and Squaresoft are to those die hard FF fans. I love Final Fantasy, but as far as story writing, music, and just pure fun Falcom owns them in my opinion. So this got me to thinking of actually doing a revamp of the website. Version 7.0 has served me well but its been the fundamentally the same for over two years now. So I may try to do some artsy Y's themed look in the coming months, providing I get some time.

Big 30
Thursday October 6, 2005 1:53 PM

Soooooo do you think as a student you should be punished for having all your work done on time? That you should be singled out in class cause your playing a web game or surfing a web site when you have completed your homework assignments prior to class? While everyone else in the class is doing their HOMEWORK assignment IN CLASS? Well that sums up my instructor philosophy. Instead of rewarding you for being ahead of the class, you get mocked at and gripped at while you WAIT for the instructor to start lecturing 50 minutes into the class. So for 50 minutes your sitting there doing NOTHING, cause you've done all your homework prior to class, and he won't let you relax while you wait for his dumb ass lecture. While this didn't happen to me luckily, its disturbing and this instructor has no common sense. In fact if anything its encouraging more student to do homework in class and waste even more valuable teaching time. God this teacher sucks so bad, and he is like the department heads hump buddy to boot.

Okay lets try this again. Sooooooo I turned 30 this week. I don't think it hit me until tuesday morning, and I keep lingering about it in my mind. Where I have gone, what have a learned, what have I sacrificed, where am I heading? All valid questions I suppose. My life really has not changed much over the course of the past few years, maybe it needs to, maybe it doesn't. Its hard to describe. We had a nice steak and shrimp dinner with my parents the day before. They gave me some birthday money as the usually do, a little more then usual even. Monday I went to work and had a decent birthday lunch with my co-workers. Monday night, me and Jackie just relaxed at home, ate some chinese food, opened up some gifts she got me. She got me the season one Battlestar Galactica set, Scary Movie 3.5, a big Batman figure, a cute Spider-man snow globe, and a Teen Titans DVD. Fun stuff indeed. I also treated myself to a Nintendo DS system, Advance Wars DS, Yoshi Touch and go, Lunar for the DS, the new Castlevania for the DS, and a used copy of River City Ransom for the GBA. I also decided to buy Darkwatch from gamefly. Its a great fun game, I just wish more people played it online.

Halloween is quickly arriving, we have decorated the house, I should take some pics and post here. We finished ordering Brandon's computer parts yesterday, should be in here in a week or so. He seems quite ecstatic about it. Should be fun to have someone I know to hang out with in online computer games.

Well I went ahead and cancelled my Xbox 360 reserve. The gamestop manager was quite pissy about the whole thing. He didn't understand that by the time it was all over the system was gonna run around $600 dollars, and thats with no games. Microsoft is kind of gimpy for calling this the wireless evolution of a system when they don't have something as simple as wireless network connection card. Instead of including a simple $20 dollar wireless network card, they are charging $100 for an external device that does the same thing. LAME!!!

Not to mention I've been playing PC games more so then console. Maybe I've finally outgrown console games. Who knows. We celebrated Brandon's birthday a week or two back. Ate some Red Lobster saw the Brothers Grimm, and watched some more Doctor Who. My birthday is coming up shortly, turning the big 30. I'm not sure what to think of it. Its been a madhouse at work lately, and its hard to think about anything. It still aggravates me here at times. When Faith got fired and I moved into her office, everyone presumed I was taking her job position. I'm like no, I have plenty of my own duties to attend to. And now our director of Distance Learning has moved from his position into a teaching position, dropping all the Blackboard duties onto me once again. And again people are congratulating me on a new job position. I'm just doing the same things I was doing before the director took over partial Blackboard duties. Its kind of crazy, not to mention the mess he left as far as naming course ids go. It'll take me months to clean it up fully. I should have just keep the duties to myself all along. The way the past two weeks have been, I can't recall the last time I actually had the chance to work on my normal job duties. Hopefully it will subside shortly and things will get back to normal.

Sometimes is not enough
Tuesday August 23, 2005 1:20 PM

So its been a crazy 5 or so weeks since my last update. August 10th saw us flying to State College Pennsylvania for my brother in laws wedding. I got a chance to try quite a few beers, some good, some bad, some I'll never get to try again cause I can't recall the name of them. Dang german beers. It was a hectic few days up there starting right off with lunch with Jackie, her mom, her brother, and two of his friends. We had wood stove backed pizza at this neat little place. First time I've ever had pizza baked like that. It was quite tasty. That evening I went off with Jackie brother to a bachelor party and Jackie went to a bacheloretta party. Nothing to naughty took place. We hanged at a bar for a bit until we headed over to this restaurant that was inside an old farming mill. Food was alright, way overpriced for the quality in my opinion. The day ended and we slept in the next day. Thursday saw us practicing the wedding and having a rehearsal dinner. The dinner wasn't too bad, very very spicy cajun chicken for me. Friday saw the day of the actually wedding. We helped setup tables and things that afternoon before the big event that night. The wedding was quite nice and lots of fun and drinking took place. Saturday saw us sleeping in and just hanging at the hotel for the most part.

Sunday we started out for home but where held back due to our first flight landing after our second flight took off. The airline paid for us a hotel and food, and the next morning we managed to get back to Oklahoma. It was an interesting time, and I've had my fill of relatives for quite some time. Apparently while I was gone from work, some crazy virus affected the primary web server that Richard was unable to address. Luckily I got everything back up and working with an hour or two after I got back. Just goes to show things go crazy bad when I'm gone an extended amount of time.

I've finally gotten to the end of Metroid Prime 2. I took me first shot at the final boss last night and didn't get very far. Weeee. Now that I'm at the end I'm wondering what game I should think about trying next. I want to get Dungeon Siege 2 which apparently just came out. Maybe I'll get enough money from selling my books back to pick it up tomorrow. My final Database class is tonight, pretty much just finishing up our notebooks for a grade and eating pizza. Tomorrow I have my final test in Statistics. I can't believe how fast the summer has gone by.

I'm thinking of adding a review database for the few games I still play. Something neat to manage from time to time. Who knows. I think I'm going to reactivate my Everquest 2 account next month, as well as City of Heroes. I pre-ordered the City of Villians and the new EQ2 expansion as well. The new Zelda game has been delayed well into next year which is disappointing. There are a few other game I want to try when they come out though, one being Nightwatch.

You know, I've been online for a hell of a long time(11+ years or so). I've seen the internet evolve from ad free bundles of useful information to ad-filled popup windowed poo throwing monkeys. But something has finally gotten to me. I'm am sick of websites that force a login just to get a freaking wallpaper graphic. Link I need another 20 freaking userids and passwords so I can download a few wallpapers. Its annoying to say the least, especially when you only want one wallpaper that happens to catch your eye. Fun fun!

Picked up a few more pointless games that will probably be gathering dust. The replacement Pin for my SNES I bought of ebay doesn't seem to want to fit, and there are no auctions for a pin of my type. Both mine and Jackies cars are acting up and with our third anniversary approaching we may not be able to go to Tulsa as I had hoped. We shall see.

I've been trying to download the Samurai Champloo OST on bittorent but its giving me errors with the tracker. Not to mention I can't complete the Turbo CD collection I have 82% of. All other files I've tried have worked. I'm hoping the tracker will resolve itself shortly. Have I mentioned that my ass hurts today! Not sure why, my feet ache a bit too.

Wednesday June 29, 2005 10:16 AM

Soooo I've been remembering some of my dreams of late, which is odd in its on right. Last night was even odder. I was Batman! Not only that, but I was fighting the Horde from World of Warcraft. I was also infected with some strange disease that when I finally found a cure for it, I turned into a crystalline Batman that could actually take full flight. Fun fun, I actually haven't slept good in a week or so. I've been having all sorts of little pains in my body. The newest one being a pain in the join of my knee. Which kind of worries me, cause my mother had similar problems that lead to some major surgery 15 or so years ago.

I haven't been very content of late, can't focus on much of anything either. I'm not sure whats going on in my head. I try to do one thing, but get bored, and move to something else, get bored. Repeat and all. I think I've been playing too much World of Warcraft of late as well. My friend Travis was playing it, and we had grouped a few times, but he has kind of dropped off the map. Cliff has come down several times in the past few months, but no effort to stop by and see me, and Brandon isn't returning my calls this week for some reason. Things are just kind of overwhelmingly BLAH!

Castle Shikigami
Thursday June 2, 2005 3:08 PM

Well despite last weeks neck pains of doom, which put me out for a good 3 or so days, this weeks going good. Getting allot of things done today at work. Revamped the employees website and pushed it into SSL mode. Sooooo like I said last week, I woke up on Wednesday and the back left side of my upper neck was in utter pain. I could barely move it. It got better the following two days, but still persisted on occasion over the weekend. That Friday night Jackie came home from visiting her relatives that week and gave me a get happy don't feel sick pill that made me a bit giddy. We then went to Tulsa picked up my ass load of comics for the month, ate some Red Lobster. Got Carnival Season One DVD set new for $30 bucks at Vintage Stock. Also picked up the third Farscape Starburst DVD at Best Buy, and grabbed some Krispee Kreme donuts on the way home. Man that sounds good right now!

Picked a few new games of late. Star Ocean, Drakenguard, Castlevania Lament of Innocence, Crimson Tears, Castle Shikigami 2, Mechassault, and Burnout 3 Takedown! I had actually been looking at getting Burnout 3 for a couple of days but the $40 price tag was scaring me away. Luckily it got marked down and became part of the platinum hits collection for a cool $20 bucks. Its a pretty wicked racing game. Its funny watching all the wrecks. Castle Shikigami 2 is a classic old school shooter, no no not FPS, a real shooter top down view. You don't pilot a plane tho, you play a magical anime like character with various attacks. Its pretty neat although the voice acting is pretty bad. Crimson Tears is a 3D final fight typish game, Castlevania is well Castlevania. Drakenguard is a bit slow but has play elements similar to Dynasty Warriors that I like. And Star Ocean is a neat little RPG with awesome music, and just a bit too much dialogue. I'm going through it, an hour or so at a time. Neat story line just too much talking and not enough combat. Mechassault I haven't played yet, maybe this weekend.

I also renewed my World of Warcraft account last night, played for a little bit, nothing much has changed since we played last. But having quit Everquest, its something I can dabble with a bit. My City of Heroes account got activated for a few days due to a free Memorial Day event. I miss playing that game, and with City of Villians coming out later this year, I'll probably reactivate it.

Thursday May 19, 2005 1:43 PM

So the whole everquest officer guild thingy in Cryptic Reign was quite a bit more then I could handle. And with Brian moving on with a busy life, the majority of people have decided to pretty much fold the guild. A few of us are apping with Euphoira. They are a little bit further then we where in SS, and its been pretty fun so far. I hope I get bumped up enough to get a full guild tag in the next few days. Been playing Guild Wars a bit here and there, I don't want to get too far ahead of my friend Brandon. He's a level 9 warrior/necro, and I'm a level 12 elemental/ranger. Pretty fun game, I really love the mission you get to go on. All sorts of things can happen.

So this week is E3, I've been partially glued to 1up.com grabbing videos and other tidbits. All three new machines look wicked. I know allot of people are a bit disappointed in Nintendo, but hell if its true that you can download(for a small fee) old NES, SNES, and N64 games and play on it, that will be kick ass. I really love that all of them are going to have wireless controllers and wi-fi capabilities. PS3, and Xbox 360 can also play the previous systems games. Gonna be a wicked war this time. Games that have me hooked so far are Dead or Alive 4, Ninja Gaiden Black, and Zelda: Twilight Princess. And City of Villians sounds like its going to be a blast, I'll have to reactivate my account soon for all that. Fun stuffs indeed.

Speaking of console games, I haven't really been playing much of late. A little bit of Y's VI, goldeneye online, and a smattering of other titles. I need to mess around with Halo a bit more, the coop story mode was pretty cool. Need to get Brandon up here so we can continue forth with our game.

Star Wars comes out today, but it will be next week or so before we can go see it. Now that the specs for the new gaming machines have been released and we know a bit more about HDTV, I think we may trade in ours for a newer more advanced one capable of displaying what the new machines will be boosting. Will find out more next week on that.

Sooooo I've been trading allot of games at gamerush lately. And gotten to try some new craptastic games. Lets start off with Doom 3 for Xbox. It was great fun on the PC, and while the Xbox graphics are not near as nice on the PC, the online play and the extras looked great. So I got it, with trades, and the deals going on, it didn't cost me a dime. So I tried(hint tried) to play it on Xbox Live. Lagtastic as can be, crappy multiplayer levels, with only 4 people per game? Yea talk about lame, if your even remotely interested in this game, rent it. Or wait til its in the bargin bin of $20 new. On to yet another disappointing game Jade Empire. I swore I read an article about how they said the game was going to be online. Guess what, no its not. Okay there goes 80% of the reason I got it. So I sat down and played it. Yea the graphics are good, and combat not bad. However this suck hole of a game is 95% dialogue. It put me to sleep, you can't even skip past some of the talking. Its soooooo annoying. Luckily I got it cheap after some discounts and late last night took it, Doom 3, and some other games down to gamerush.

Traded it all in for credit and walked out with a brand new Playstation 2, memory card, Dynasty Warriors 5, Champions Return to Arms, and Katamari Damacy. I was much happy. Played well into the night before crashing in the bed to watch some DVR'd episodes of The Shield.

Wow yet another month passes. Nothing too major has happened as usual. Played a few new games thanks to Gamefly. Resident Evil 4 being one of them. I was never a huge fan of the RE series. In fact the only one I ever played to any degree was the one that was on Dreamcast. RE 4 on Gamecube is really nice though. Graphically wondrous, and the ambient sounds creepy. The game play is really pleasing as well. Its a two disc game and I've put in nearly 10 hours of play and I am still on disc one. Currently up to this part I have to kill two huge beasts in a room hovering above liquid metal.

Also tried Scrapland, which well em sucks. Sending it back to get the next game. Picked up Malice for Xbox for 10 bucks. Its graphically pretty with some sub par voice acting. Nice simple little platformer. Got Brute Force for kicks since it was only 5 bucks. Its a pretty straight forward mass killing gun wielding game. Also traded in some games to Blockbuster and got my Starfox Assault fix. For some reason I have been craving the game for the past week so I just had to get it. Not sure what else I may have gotten played in the past month. Time flies too fast.

Me and Jackie went to see Sin City last week, its a great movie, far better then I expected. Go see it now. We also rented Exorcist the beginning which was alright. We have Final Cut right now we need to watch, and are about to get the last disc for season two of 24. This past Sunday, Travis, Brandon, and Cliff come over for some good old Wrestlemania. It was quite enjoyable, wish we had more chances to hang out. The new Doctor Who series has begun airing in the UK, and thanks to the wonderful internet I'm able to download and watch the new episodes. Its turning out far better then I thought it would be. The New Doctor does a fantastic job. The special effects have moved into the new century, its just an all around splendid show.

Wow, I really should try to write more often here. Time just flies by without me taking a notice to much of anything. Lets see whats cooking of late. I'm recovering from being sick. Jackie was sick last week, this week is my turn. Seems its going around everywhere you look. Makes waking up in the morning even more difficult. This semester I'm taking an advanced Java class that is not too bad, and a telecommunications course. Its midterm now and seems my grades are good. The Java class is funny as everyone in the class is like behind on assignments with no signs of catching up. I do procrastinate a bit but I get them done in time.

On the gaming front, I hooked up with a bunch of SNES games that were on sale at Blockbuster for 99 cents each. Pretty wicked stuff. We also renewed our gamefly membership and tried a few games. First was SVC chaos vs capcom which was total crap, I've seen games on the SNES that looked better then this XBox port. Glad I didn't break down and buy it like I was going to. Tried Goldeneye Rogue Agent which is wicked wicked fun. One of the most fun filled games I've played in forever. Ended up buying it, it was so good. Next game on the list was Halo 2. I played the first one and was not very impressed. The second one blows more then the first one does. Although the multi-player may be fun, its still no where near the fun factor as Rogue Agent. I also played the new Starfox game, which was fun, but not as great as I was hoping it would have been. Its got the usually flight stages, but it seems you play more in the FPS perspective on foot then flying that bad ship around. I'll eventually buy it, but its not a game to get at the $50 price point, way to short, and not enough flying action. It would be awesome if the Gamecube was actually online though. This week I'll be getting Mercenaries, and the Street Fighter collection to try out.

We switched over to Dish network last month to get HD programming since Cox cable are idiots and don't offer it in our area. The HD channels look great, and to top it off we got a DVR that we are enjoying greatly. No more missed episodes of our favorite shows. Its actually better to DVR your shows and watch them later as you can cut out the nearly 20 mins of commercials that plague an hour of television. We also subscribed to the monthly rental plan at Blockbuster. Been watching the first season of 24 which is very very good. Caught up on lots of new movies, and still tons and tons of stuff to check out.

Throwing numbers around now, 2 all access Everquest accounts at 21.99 a month, 2 regular Everquest accounts at 12.99 a month, one City of Heroes account at 14.99 a month, and now two World of Warcraft accounts at 14.99 a month. Our total online gaming bill, $114.93. The fun and excitement we get, priceless. Okay that is a bit much I have to admit. I think I'll merge 2 of the EQ accounts into one to save 13 bucks a month. Its kind of fun raiding in EQ while playing WoW at the same time, keeps me from being bored. With our tax return we did yet another computer upgrade so Jackie could get a P4. Shes running a 2.8 P4 with HT, 1 gig of ram, DVD drive, ATI 9600 Pro video card I think, and other fun stuff. I'm running a 3.2 P4 with HT, 2 gigs of ram, CD-RW drive, ATI 9800 pro card, and more fun stuff. Got this huge case thats pretty awesome. I'll have to take a picture of it, its just monstrous.

Been playing around with a potential layout upgrade for OWA. Its still pretty much the same as it is now, just with components moved around. I'm having trouble coming with something I feel is better then what I have now. The current design is going on a year and half now, but its a damn good design I think. Why change whats working perfectly fine now? Guess I'll stop rambling for now. Wra!

Bad Eggs Indeed
Wednesday January 12, 2005 12:39 PM

Well today is the welcome back lunch and I'm in class and the room and building smells like bad rotten eggs. How cheeseburgers, cookies, sode, and chips can make that smell I have no clue. So Christmas is finally freaking over. It wasn't all that bad as it has been in the past. We didn't have to waste our lifes staying overnight at Jackies dads house. They come down and took us to lunch, and her mother came and stayed a few days. I got a few nifty things both gifts and items I purchased. New games include Demon Stone, Metroid Prime 2, Samarai Warriors, Tony Hawks Underground 2, The tick for SNES hehe. Got some anime and game toys, some nice warm slippers, and lots of other fun stuff.

The weather has been quite nice for the most part but we are about to hit a cold spell starting late tonight. As every winter comes on I have an increasing troubling time getting out of bed in the morning. To top that off I have a 8 AM class twice a week. Fun fun. This semester I'm taking advanced Java programming and a telecommunications course. Both classes look to be quite easy, so probable another semester of A's.

Looking forward to tax time, going to upgrade some computers, get some movies we didn't get for Christmas, and maybe a few games. Going to try to get on Xbox Live as well, once I find a decent wireless method for the Xbox.

Fantastic Voyage from Beyond the Stars
Thursday December 16, 2004 11:01 AM

WOW! Theres nothing funnier then an instructor hosing down your main campus web server by trying to upload a 14 gigabyte uncompressed raw video file when theres only 2 gigs of free space on the servers hard drive. All this days before going on leave for two weeks. Its actually quite funny. Me, my boss, and our network administrator had a good laugh. But I'm going to look into limiting the file size upload limit on the ftp server, so this won't happen again. Tomorrow is my final day of work for the year, then its off for two weeks to do just about nothing. We still have Christmas shopping to do, but will have to wait until the 22nd when I get paid next. Saturday we go to my parents to have a special early birthday dinner for Jackie. Hopefully I'll get a steak out of it!

This Christmas won't have us traveling around so much as the past few years luckily. Jackies mother is coming down for a few days, and then after Christmas her father and step-mother is going to come down for lunch and gift exchanges. Christmas eve Jackies two friends are coming over as they have no plans for Christmas. Other then that I expect allot of gaming to take place in the world of Norrath and City of Heroes, and who knows what else.

So Thanksgiving came and away we went to Harrah to feast with my grandparents. I had not seen them in a few years. I was never really close to my mothers parents, but it was kind of nice to see them. Lunch was not near as bad as I feared and I got my turkey, so all was good. That evening me and Jackie shuffled off to Dallas to see Varekai which we bought tickets for nearly a year ago. We got done there Thanksgiving evening and after getting mildly lost found our hotel. We then went to eat at Dennys and caught the movie Alexander.

The next day we got up early and went to the JFK sixth floor musuem. It was quite an interesting exhibit covering the era, his preisdency, the assisination, and possible conspiracies. We then ate lunch at On the border, and went to see Finding Neverland, which was really really good. We then went back to the hotel rested for a bit, then grabbed a tasty McRib for dinner and went to see Varekai.

The performance was spectacular as you can imagine, and quite entertaining. We had a great time there. The only craziness is the insane highway system Dallas has, and the loops and out of the way exits we had to take just to navigate the areas we needed to. Also Mapquest has lost any faith I had for it with its inaccurate directions. Saturday we left for home and lunch with Jackies mother and brother. I then left and got home to see how depraved out cats where. Luckily they survived and where happy to see someone after being left alone for nearly three days.

Tuesday I went and did a bit of Christmas shopping for Jackie. I didn't have her list that she made, but I remembered allot of it, and got her some things that should surpise her. I picked up my comic books where there was some confusion with updating my list, but we got it sorted out. Also picked up a Sephiroth figure they had. We also decorated the Christmas tree Tuesday night, you can find pictures from that and our trip to Dallas, and other new images in the gallery.

Friday November 12, 2004 8:41 AM

Quick update on things. Had a decent Halloween with more trick or treaters then we've had in the past. Now that Halloween is over its the mad and insane rush for the #1 commercial holiday Christmas. Its sad that the rush started in late August though. This is usually the time of the year I get cranky and pissed off at everyone in general. Christmas has always been more pain then whats its worth for me anyways. If the holiday was actually based around what its supposed to be and not out for the fastest biggest buck companies strive for. Za well.

We are launching the new OSU-Okmulgee system website design during the week of Thanksgiving. I've still got a few things left to work on, namely scripting issues. I really like the new site and its been fun getting everything in order and trying new php scripting functions. The templates for the new site are amazing. Consisting of a mere five or so lines of code plus whatever contact is on the page. Also worked up a full blown calendar script for the new site, as well as optimized some other forms and databases.

After four days of being delayed due to problems on Sony's half, our copies of Everquest 2 will arrive today. Ebgames who I was disappointed with did go out of their way and ship them overnight at no additional charge. So me and Jackie will be delving into the new lands of Norrath once again late this evening. Would be earlier, but we have to run to Tulsa and mail out a Jacket we sold on ebay. Our trip to see Veraki is less then two weeks away. Should be fun and relaxing. I know I've been less then stellar the past few months. I'm not sure my medicine is working anymore or not, the past few days have been really draining. Perhaps I need to get my dose upped.

I have been playing quite a bit of City of Heroes of late. My Ice Blaster I started about a month or so ago has actually surpassed all my other characters and is sitting at level 18. I'm starting to have trouble finding groups though it seems. Luckily sometimes I get to group with some lv 30 people in my Supergroup. I'm glad they have the option of where a higher level person can sidekick a low level person so they can actually contribute to the group and get experience. I heard from my parents yesterday that my old High school friend Brandon stopped by and is apparently moving back. Will be nice to see him again. Last I saw him was at my wedding over two years ago. Cliffs supposed to be in this weekend as well. I may see if he wants to come up for a bit this tomorrow.

Jackie has developed Bell's Palsy, a degenerate disorder of the cells. Shes gone to the doctor and is on medication that is reversing the disease. I'm glad we caught it early, if it had continued things would have gotten much worse.

Crimson Star Adventures
Friday October 15, 2004 11:58 AM

Well today is the fifth anniversary of the domain onewingedangel.com. Its been a wild crazy ride these past years. I've tried allot of different things, created lots of fun sites. Sadly only a few remain today, maybe I'll dig some archives and let you see what horrid things this domain used to host. The current design is by far the longest design I've kept to date, and I don't see it changing anytime soon. Its a good a design that has worked well, and I don't see any need to come up with something new at this time.

Since me and Jackie quit Everquest, I figured it was just a matter of time before Daerius came to me about him taking the Storm Spirits website over and moving it to some other server. I'll probable keep the site hosted on here once he moves the domain name just as a portfolio piece, cause its a damn fine piece of work. I got to try allot of new things and jumped full force into multiple dynamic database management.

Jackie went home to visit her mother this weekend, so last night I was kinda pacing around trying to figure out what to do. I was going to play Everquest 2, but there was a patch that took an hour to download, so I played a new game I bought called Sudeki. So far its been kind of disappointing. The story is great so far, and the characters seem interesting enough, but the combat system is a bit blocky and hectic and not all that user friendly. Well see if I can get the hang of it before I call it quits. After playing that a bit the patch was done and I tried to play Everquest 2, but I kept getting client crashes and gave up after a while. Theres a patch today that is supposed to address those issues, so maybe I can play it a bit tonight. I ended the evening playing some Crimson Skies, Starfox Adventures, and then watching a documentary on D-Day with Arwen curled up on the bed.

Well as many have noticed, my site and the others I host have been up and down off and on for the past month or so. Apparently the server I'm on is having a massive harddrive issue that they are trying to resolve. If its not back to normal by the end of this month I'll be finding a new host.

So I turned 29 on October 3rd. I don't feel much older, but just wait til next year. We didn't do to much since we just dumped allot of cash on tons of games, an Xbox, and a HDTV. Jackie did bake me a cake and painted Master Shake on it. I'll post a picture of it later. We had some good steaks at my parents house that day as well. We spent the weekend at home mostly downloading Everquest 2. We both got into the beta for it, go go Sony not wanting us to wander to far. Its pretty cool so far. We went to the Tulsa State Fair as we usual do every year, as you can see from the picture in the previous post, we had some fun. I have lots more pictures I'll dump into a gallery later today if I can.

Vandread Onslaught
Thursday September 30, 2004 12:07 PM

I really should ramble more in my blog. Another month has passed and quite an eventful one. Its amazing how fast time passes, we've been at our new place two months now. I think I've finally gotten used to it now, as I am sleeping a bit better now.

Both me and Jackie got some early flu it seem as we and many people at work where affected by it. We are both feeling way better now luckily. I finally saw a doctor for the first time in like two or three years. He's got me on some medication to address my every long depressions symptoms and what not. Things seem better so maybe its working. I'm taking two classes this semester. Principles of Information Security and Object Oriented Programming with Java. Both have been cake walks so far, and its kind of nice being in class again. Gets me out of the office to practice those social skills.

With our surge of funds we picked up an Xbox and a ton of games for both the Xbox and Gamecube. The big one I'm enjoying right now is X-Men Legends. A fun action RPG game featuring those legendary mutants. I also finished up Tales of Symphony a week or two ago. That was a great RPG that I had allot of fun and enjoyment from. I'll update the game list later this week to list the new ones we have. We also got a new high-tech toy this past week. A 52 inch HDTV, and its simply amazing. We are doing the rent to own thing through Aarons, which may seem like allot in the end, but man this thing is awesome. DVD movies look stellar, and games are just wow. I've still got to order a HDTV receiver from Cox so we can actually get the HDTV through the cable.

On the anime front I have been watching a little bit of Love Hina when I can, and a new one that I'm already addicted to after just a few episodes, called Vandread. Its a story of men versus women in a epic space battle, but end up having to join force to overcome a new enemy that is out to destroy them both. It looks simply amazing on the new TV, and I can't wait to sit down and watch more.

My good friend Cliff moves off to Texas this weekend. Him, me, Travis, and Jackie had a nice evening watching TV and playing games the other night. Cliff says he'll move back in a year if he doesn't like it down there. I hope he does, I'm going to miss the old lug.

More later if your lucky.....

So I ran off yesterday afternoon for some mental health time. Went and watched the movie Collateral, which was pretty cool and provocative. Afterwards I wasted a good 15 minutes at Best Buy doing nothing much at all. Quick stop by Wizards to get my comics, some new anime figures, and a comic box. I think hit up Game Xchange to get my Babylon 5 Season 2 out of layaway. Followed by two wasteful trips to Vintage Stock and Toys R Us.

Got home and cleaned up a bit and played a bit of Tales of Symphonia before Jackie got home. I start my first college class in 4 yours this afternoon. Should be interesting. Principles of Information Security. This mornings been rampant with instructors and students getting their login information for this semester. Fun fun stuffs.

So yea, mentally its been a rough few months. I've been a bit better of late. I let my checked obsession go this weekend by picking up Tales of Symphonia for the Gamecube. Fun fun game with a good storyline. I'm already a good 12 hours into it. Sunday me and Jackie grabbed some chinese food in Tulsa, stopped by Game Xchange where I put Babylon 5 Season 2 into layaway, then we went to see Hero, which was really cool and entertaining film.

Today thankfully is payday, although we have a ton of bills piled up with moving fees and all that garbage. And our electric bill which is stupid how they do that, they basicly want the entire amount that was due at the old house, some $500(we are on the average pay plan thingy)

Not sure what September will bring, I'm taking two classes this semester. Object Oriented Programming using Java, and Principles of Information Security.

Soooo yesterday I had some time and ran through onewingedangel.com and fixed the few things there where that was keeping me from validating to XHTML 1.1 Strict. The only page thats not validating properly is the image gallery. Some strange table thing is going on that I have to look into. Redid how the header and footer table works as well with a new technique I've been messing with.

My head has been quite a swirl of chaos and confusion lately. I keep thinking back to my days at OU, and lingering on the things I could have done back then to alter the life I have now. I have no clue why I linger on these thoughts. Maybe I'm just getting old and thinking back to my younger years when life was more free.

Sickness Sucks
Tuesday July 13, 2004 1:15 PM

So like I've been ill for quite a number of days. Since Thursday evening actually. I haven't been this drained and sick in a long time. I had to make it into work today although after a quick two hours of doing catch up I'm sitting here with very little to do, along with a stuffy head and a body that wants naptime. During my few days at home I mostly played The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time. I haven't fully played this game in a long long time. I'm not at the Sand pyramid about to do the young link parts then after that its off to defeat Ganon. Such a wicked fun game. After I beat Ocarina, I'm gonna try Majoras Mask, the other N64 Zelda outing that I never had the chance to play. Then I might try to dig up Wind Waker and complete the run down the 3-D Zelda isle.

The though occurred to me during the blight of my sickness about doing a Onewingedangel.com Version 7.1. But after staring at photoshop for a ten minutes and then looking back at the current OWA. I'm sitting here asking why? The current design is damn good and easy to use. So I'll stick with what I have now until some design descends from the heavens into my head. Played a bit of City of Heroes when I had the energy. Got a level 14 controlled of Ice and Wind now. Fun fun game to play, but I think I burned myself out a bit so taking a small break. Maybe the few friends I've made will catch up in levels a bit. I did sort of power game for a while there.

It seems Everquest 2 is currently slated to be released in less then two months. I'm still missing two items for my new computer I built a few months ago. One is another stick of 512 PC3500 Ram that will complete my pair needed for DDR to work properly. I'm going to try and get that next paycheck as its only about $80. I may also get the other item I want, a larger harddrive. I've priced some 120 gig drives at $80 and 160 gig around $100. I'll be set for quite sometime with that setup.

Jackie computer however needs a huge facelift. Shes running a 2.2 Celeron which for Everquest 2 I'd prefer her to have a Pentium 4 with hyperthreading at least. The same setup I have should only run $300 or $400 for the CPU, Motherboard, and one stick of proper memory. However, finding those funds may be hard. So we may end up just seeing how bad it runs on her machine. I know EQ 1 runs pretty bad, but she does run allot of things that probable slow it down. And with all the downloading, we have to defrag her drive quite often it seems.

Vacation Round-Up
Tuesday July 6, 2004 2:04 PM

Wow, that was a bit of a fun ride. Just got back to work from a nice little passed due break. I had accumulated more annual leave then I thought so I took all last week off from work, resulting in a 10 day vacation. Me and Jackie didn't really do too much. I didn't get paid til last Tuesday and end of the month is always a little rough. Mostly played Everquest, and beat Zelda Four Swords, and started up Ocarina of Time for kicks. After I got paid we hit up a few stories. I picked up the Megaman Anniversary Collection for Gamecube. Fun fun games. I've already gone through the original Megaman, and I am at the end of Megaman 2. My eye hand coordination is not what it used to be. Or maybe its just geared for a 3-D environment. Anyway's its a great pack of classic fun games for the cheap price of $30.00.

Wednesday we went to Tulsa where Jackie enrolled at NSU, and has since then sort of changed her mind about what she wants to do for school this fall. I'm still uncertain about doing this BT degree this fall or not. Funny thing the world is. After NSU, we hit up Red Lobster for some much needed fish and shrimp. Stopped by Vintage Stock and got some comics and books. Then over to the mall where I don't think we got anything. Grabbed my comic reserves at Wizards, and hit Best Buy and Compusa which resulted in nothing but complaints about why we even bother stopping there. We then watched Spider-Man 2 which was a wicked fun movie and better then the first in my opinion.

Thursday we went to Oklahoma City, bought more books and comics at New World, and some store called the Book Rack. We then meet up with my parents who bought us groceries at the Commissary there at the Tinker Air Force Base. At the Olive Garden which must have been kids night or something with all the noisy loud children there. Went to the mall afterwards and bought way too much Anime related toys. I'll try to find a picture of them and post later.

Friday and Saturday lent me to boring myself silly with Everquest again, playing my Monk whose now well into level 54. Sunday we ate lunch at my parents with a bunch of relatives I really don't know, and my friends Cliff and Dean. That night Kenneth and Elaine came over(with a guest appearance by Dean, who later disappeared) and we went through what few fireworks I still have left, and watched the Okmulgee display. We then spent a few hours rambling about things and watching TV well unto the night. Monday Jackies Mother came down, but not before we hit Sam Goody for more stuff we didn't need. I went ahead and picked of City of Heroes, and boy I'm glad I did. Its as much fun as everyone says it is. Good good stuff that will probable leave a good layer of dust on Everquest for the foreseeable future.

Its now Tuesday and I spent all this morning setting up my new work computer that arrived on my last day of work before my break. Its a really nice machine. 3.0 Gig Pentium 4 with Hyperthreading. 1.0 Gig of DDR memory, 8X DVD burner, sizeable hard drive, a so so video card FX5200, and a awesome 19 inch flat screen LCD monitor that is just a glowing jewel next to the CRT of my old machine. I think this may spoil me and force me to get one for home. Its just so crisp, clear, and easy on the eyes. I'll take a picture of it later this week for those few people interested.

TACO DATE
Wednesday June 9, 2004 10:43 AM

Woot Taco date with Jackie this afternoon, how fan is that. I'm sure your all jealous, or perhaps, confused. Za well.....

So we got some tickets to a preview of the Notebook when we went to Vintage Stock last. Went to see it last night and barely got in. Seems the send out more tickets then they have seats to make sure theres a full house. This is the second movie I've gotten to see prior to its release. My first was The Crow at one of the retailer shows we used to go to. We got to see it about three weeks before release which was really sweet. I was with my father at the time, and he didn't like it very much. The Notebook was a touching story about young love. It was sad at parts, but overall it was a good movie. This weekend me, Jackie, and Cliff are going to Tulsa to see Harry Potter and Riddick that opens this weekend. Should be a fun time.

I'm near the end of Metroid Prime now. I got re-interested in it a week or so ago, and powered through it pretty much. Taking a breather for a few days, but may try to give the final boss another go tonight. The final boss is kind of lame, and not even close to being as cool at the Ridley fight. After this I'm going to try and pick back up on Prince of Persia. Then I have Castlevania waiting. By the time I get done with those, hopefully payday will be here and I can get the Megaman collection. Thats going to be a blast. Oh and Shining Force and River City Ransom for the gameboy.

Added a few new kitty images, and a Jackie Gallery. Enjoy!

I've had nothing but odd nightmares this past week, why can't I have a good dream and remember it for once.

Lost in Translation
Wednesday June 2, 2004 9:21 AM

Another month, another paycheck, more bills, and the never ending battle of staying on top of things. Doesn't help having to get several hundred dollars of dental work either. Well maybe we'll be caught up next month. So i've been wondering about my future of late as usually, and I'm still unsure what I want to do. I don't think I want to do web work and other computer related work for the rest of my life. It would be nice to have a more active job. So I wonder back upon teaching. Educating the people of tomorrow. It seems interesting enough, but with the current state of things can be somewhat difficult. I wish I could just drop everything I have here and go full time to college, but thats not going to happen. Barely making ends meet now as it is.

Soo we went to Tulsa last Friday to get the last part of my dental work completed. We then went and say The Day After Tomorrow. A neat special effects driven film with a loose storyline. Was a neat experience. Afterwards we had lunch and stopped by Vintage Stock, the mall and a few other places. Picked up the Sonic Collection for gamecube. I guess they re released it since I say it at Wal-Mart the other day as well. Also got the PS2 Castlevania game, picked up our comics, and a few other odds and ends.

We then went to see Troy. I wasn't feeling to well at first, guess the dental work was starting to kick in. But I got better for the second half of the film, and it was allot better then I thought it was going to be. Talked Jackie into eating Cicis pizza, but I was not feeling to good and I didn't get to enjoy it as much as I hoped.

Jackie gave her I quit Everquest message to our guild message board, and was pretty much ignored by all officers, and most of the guild. Its sad that people making posts about computer troubles are getting more support and thanks then she did after two years of faithful service. I have not decided if I'm going to quit Everquest, or just leave the guild cause what is happening of late is just bullshit. On top of that I've been playing a good chunk of World of Warcraft and been entwined with it, along with some console games I've been playing again of late.

Added some updated image galleries for our cats, including our new kitten Cloud. May 1 rolled on in and got paid again, I'm becoming not so fond of this once a month paycheck, but I guess we will survive. Picked up Zelda a Link to the Past for GBA. Fun classic SNES game that I'm wizzing right through. I'm also in the World of Warcraft Beta which is a blast. I have a Undead Warlock thats level 14 now. The first ten levels rushed by quickly, but the pace has slowed down allot in these middle teens level. I'm still having fun exploring new areas, and completing quests. I was invited into a guild, but no ones ever on when I am, so its a bit quiet and dull. I may remove myself from it shortly.

We picked up the LDoN expansion for my rogues Everquest account. It will be nice to play the rogue instead of the chanter from some adventures. Fayelynn is nearing 400 AA points now, and already has at least 20 if not more leadership points. I'm somewhat at a loss as to what to get next. I imagine most people feel the same once they get that many points.

Mother's Day is coming up, and while it is a holiday(erg I hate holidays), its not as bad as most. I should be renewing my Final Fantasy XI account soon, as I just helped Travis put together a new computer to run it. It should be allot more fun with someone I know playing it. I found it hard to meet consistant players in it.

Flowers
Tuesday April 6, 2004 3:49 PM

Despite my frustration with life, work, and just about everything else. Jackie sent me some digital flowers, and I'm in a better mood this afternoon then I have been the past few weeks at work. Finished up the oracle database creation, and talked to Scott about the new BA degrees here at OSU-Okmulgee. Allot of classes I may receive advanced standing credit for. Something like nearly 30 credit hours worth. And allot of classes I have taken are going to qualify for transfer credit.

Let the dogs of war die

So me and Jackie have decided to take at least two weeks off from everquest which may be extended to one month. At that time we will decide wither to keep the game or leave it forever. We've played it for the past 4 years and while the world is a grand place, its simple not the same as it once was. Everyone is level 65 with 200+ aas. Old world zones are simple deserted. And the major downfall is all the good people we knew are now gone. Our guild which has now gotten to Plane of Time is has no where near the class of players it had this time a year ago. Too many good people have left the guild and me and Jackie feel like outcasts half the time. The guild is now made of primarily new members that like to powergame it seems. Not to mention a few of them are the most clueless people in the world. The family feeling that was a major part of the guild has simple vanished into oblivion as we've moved up the tiers. Its been a great ride, but we've lost our purpose and the people that made logging on enjoyable.

So we are taking a break. We may come back and be ready to rock with the guild once again. We may come back, but leave the guild for more friendlier waters. Or we may just simply not come back. I just don't want to log into a game and be forced to witness the idiocy that is guildchat. With Hedric now gone, there is no one to police the pointless mindless chatter that it now makes up. So we are going to do some other things for a change. Theres several house repairs I should be making. And lots of games I need to finish up. Who knows where this will take us.

Baby Steps

Well, Sony actually really really suprised me and have already reversed the charges for the screwed up Gates of Discord purchase. I imagine allot of people have done the same thing, if only they where smart enough to add in a confirmation page, they would avoid all these problems. Did some minor tweaking here and there on the site. Updated some images, and created a random cookie that loads one of three color themes for the site. And other minor behind the scene kind of things. The Comic Book database has been created and populated, and once I find the time all I need to do is create the actually display page. Might do that before the day is over.

Raided last night on everquest, did a Plane of Air ring and then downed Xegony once again. I'm glad we didn't do the Rathe as I wanted to have some fun playing the game and not sit there for two hours mezzing something. Not to mention me and Envi still don't have Coirnav flag, and while our guild leader said we will kill him one more time, I keep seeing subtle comments suggesting once we defeat the rathe its Plane of Time here we come, which means me and Envi would be screwed and a few others would be screwed.

I reinstated my Final Fantasy XI account, and I'm recalling how easy it is to die in that game. I spent a good two hours with no progess. Its kind of annoying that you must fight mobs even level or higher to yourself to gain offensive and defensive skill ups. I'm also thinking of deleting that character and starting a elf. Not 100% sure yet though. I wish Lineage II would come out, or at least get into the Beta so I could test it out. It looks very very VERY good. I can only hope it plays as good.

My new computer is, as I've said before, SMOKIN. Running Everquest with dynamic lighting, and social animations and all but 8 character models with no video lag at all. Its very very nice. Jackie wants one now hehe.

Well Sony Just Sucks
Monday March 8, 2004 11:49 AM

So like last night I was checking on my Everquest mule. For some reason(yet again) he was booted to the login screen instead of being logged in as usual. I was just gonna quit out and shut down the laptop since I got booted anyways. So I'm fiddling with the mouse to exit Everquest when that stupid annoying Gates of Discord screen pops up. My mule account does not have GoD enabled so every single fucking time I log in this screen pops up asking me if I want to order the expansion. You have two options. ORDER and LATER. There no option, check box etc, to have them stop annoying you with this screen. So I'm fumbling to exit out of Everquest and somehow it thinks I've clicked the ORDER button. Okay no worries, I'll just exit out of the next screen, because surely a webpage will open asking me for confirmation on ordering this craptastic expansion. However, I don't even get that option. I get a big fucking THANK YOU FOR PURCHASING GATES OF CRAPTUDE.

So I'm like WTF! I was never given the chance to confirm my order, or to enter in my preferred payment option. Just a big thank you for ordering, we've already billed your account, restart and welcome to everquest crap expansion #6.

Being somewhat pissed I go to their website to cancel the order, which of course theres no option to do that. Being Sunday night there is of course no tech support. So I email them, and have yet to receive a reply of course. So I started poking around the fine print on their website. And according to their policies, they DO NOT offer refunds on digital downloads(which is what I never got to confirm last night). So here I am currently being billed $29.99 for a crap expansion on a alternate account that I mainly use as a mule. I'm going to harass their live tech chat room today, and call them this evening. If I do not get a refund on this I will sooooo be cancelling my accounts and Sony can keep their one time charge of $29.99 since they won't be getting the regular $36.00 a month. I'll also ebay these accounts to the highest bidder and go play a game that has real customer support, and doesn't force you to buy things you don't want with no option of confirming your purchase. SONY you can SUCK ME!

So in other news :)
My new computer is rocking along nicely. Pentium 4 2.8 gigahertz with Hyper-Threading Support. 512 Megs of PC 3500 memory, and a smoking 500 watt power supply. Thanks to my Jackie for picking up the PSU, as the old one was having problems providing enough power. I also got Metroid Zero Mission last week, which was a fun, but short romp in the Metroid universe. Fun game though. Jackie went home this past weekend and I spent a good chunk of time cleaning the house. Just about every room got a good thorough cleaning. I also watched a few movies I've had for a few weeks that have just been sitting around. Was a nice little weekend. Guess that is it for now, we'll see how this Sony crap goes tonight.

Holidays are the suck
Thursday February 5, 2004 3:22 PM

So I've been playing around with some things on my other domain onewingedange.net. For yours its just been a mirror of onewingedangel.com, but with the new webhost and multiple domain support, I've been playing to say the least. I installed the PHP Nuke client for the domain and have been create a things in my spare time. I think I'm going to gear towards a online gaming community. I think it would be neat if we ever get a user base to schedule some game nights where all those that like can meet up and frag each other, do some quests, or throw down some strategy. So if you somewhat interested you can poke in there, create an account, leave a forum message or two, and we can see what comes of it.

I ordered Lords of Everquest finally. I was in the beta and really enjoyed the game, but due to funds was unable to buy it when it came out. I managed to catch it on Amazon.com friday sale for $20. Not bad at all for a neat little game. Among other new toys, we picked up an X-Box, and Crimson Skies which is simple an astonishing flight game. The last time I was thrilled with a flight game was Wing Commander III. I'm thinking of getting the X-Box on the network this weekend and do some dog fighting on X-Box live.

Along with the X-Box we picked up Jackie a gameboy SP, and a week later we got another Gameboy SP on sale at the closing KB Toys. I just couldn't pass up a 20% discount. Also picked up Sword of Mana, and borrowed Metroid Fusion from Cliff. We should be just about set to play some Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles when it comes out next week. We have that and the new Everquest expansion paid for and reserved at Gamestop in Tulsa.

Valentines is coming up and once its over the world as I like it will be back to normal. I'm really burnt out on holidays. Did you know that there is not a single month of the year that doesn't have some lame-ass holiday to screw up peoples lives. I just want one month, one single month where nothing happens. Did I mention I hate holidays yet? Which brings up another point, and perhaps its the reason why I hate holidays so much. There isn't any holidays that are geared for men. Think about it, we have valentines day, which is predominately a girl thing. Christmas, the working man is more worried about paying bills and making his family and kids happy he can't enjoy it. Halloween, mainly for kids. Thanksgiving, putting up with relatives. The only two holidays that even come close to being guy-centric are St Patricks Day(I'm not much for drinking so thats out), and the Super Bowl(I know, I know its not a real holiday, but it really really is). The Super Bowl, while being geared toward men mainly, doesn't affect me cause I don't like football. Theres fathers day, but as my father always hated it, and dismissed it. I don't have any kids and even if I did, I don't think I'd like this holiday, it would just remind me all the things I'm doing wrong. Soooooo where's my holiday, cause birthdays don't count.
