Tearing myself up

July 27, 2011

I'm tearing myself up this week and the past week with stress. I need to pull myself out of this.

With a job offer, and waiting for a counter-offer from my current position is minorly stressful, but exciting the same. However, It seems our cat Arwen, my sweet calico girl, has a sizeable lump on the back side of her abdomen. We scheduled to have her see a vet this Saturday, but I had to go do some research on the internet and it could be bad. I can't imagine my little kitty girl gone from my life. We have three cats and she is the most dear to me. I pray it is nothing major, and something simple.

My mind tends to wonder, and makes me wonder how I will fill the day something happens to her. Sometimes I wonder about the outcomes of things that have not passed as opposed to living in the now.

Lizard

January 27, 2011

Sometimes I think i'm not a very good person. I had a rough day today, with the economic news getting worse and worse I tend to worry allot. Combined with a deadline of a large project that I didn't know existed until this past Tuesday, and the deadline date being Friday.I did make great progress today, but my brain is very strained of late.

In any case, I got home today and since It was pretty nice I decided to work out in the garage. Before I did that I let the cats out in the backyard and terrorized them a little bit with my remote control car. After eating some chips and salsa I went to the garage. Cleaning up thing here and there, I got to where I was going to move my comic book boxes all 13 of them. I started moving them and then I was startled by at least 2 if not 3 lizards that where hiding between the last two stacks. I was excited and wanted to catch one. I wasn't making any progress and they seemed to have gotten away. I went along and cleaned some more and then I found one of them in the corner. After several failed attempts he too got away. I continued my way and then found another one. With my newly refined tactics I attempted to catch this one. He scurried under some furniture, which I moved, but in the process I think I hurt part of his face and possible one of his eyes. I caught him, and saw him bleeding and I was stricken with guilt. Why did I chase after him so delightfully like I was an 5 year old boy. I ended up releasing him outside the garage, but the damage was done.

I love little creatures so much, our cats, our snake Hazel, but I choose to be a selfish little boy and chase after a tiny little lizard that I ended up doing more harm then anything.

Poor Little Lizard, I'm sorry.

Fishy

April 22, 2008

We decided to get a fish tank a few weeks ago. And purchased about a dozen or so different fish. We had two die unexpectedly and found out that goldfish don't mix with mollies. So all our goldfish died. We let the tank stabilize a bit and everything seems good now. Two days ago I noticed a tiny itty bitty baby snail flowing along the aquarium glass. I was quite surprised to see it. Yesterday I got home and noticed another baby snail, and a baby molly fish. So while we lost a few fish, we have gained two baby snails and a baby fish.

It was fun trying to catch the baby fish, but we managed to get him isolated into a breeding cage so he can avoid the possibility of being eaten by the bigger fish. Hopefully he will grow up and be healthy.

A Vast Mana Keep

April 18, 2008

On a whim I went out and got Rock Band the other day. I haven't had a chance to try it out, but hoping to this weekend. I've also been playing Mana Khemia, which is a surprisingly fun laid back RPG. I am having a few Everquest withdrawals, but I've fought them off rather easily. We bought a new king size bed which is very comfortable. Been sleeping really good with the quality and size of the bed. The cats seem to enjoy it too. Often I wake up in the middle of the night and Arwen will be sprawled out by my feet, reducing my wiggle room considerable.

We got a fish tank, and have had three fish die. I think we may have a disease, as one of our goldfish has spots on his fins. We also have a aggressive fish, which I think lead to the death of another goldfish we had. He may also be the cause of the other fish, but its hard to tell at this point in time.

I've come to the conclusion that Austin's Imax theatre doesn't tend to show commercial films, such as the upcoming Batman and Speed Racer. Sooooo it looks like a trip to San Antonio will be made when Batman is released. That's about the only negative I have so far, from living here, that and lack of a favorite Chinese and Mexican restaurant, but time and trying new places should remedy that issue.
